Milk Chocolate 44% – Madagascan Vanilla

Fudgy & Light

Original and elegant, with vanilla and butter notes recalling the sweet taste of caramel. This combines with the fruity, acidic flavours that characterise Madagascan cocoa.

The image on the bar depicts a Merina woman. The Merina people, whose name means “people of the highlands”, live in the Antananarivo region, also known as Imerina. They are likely to have settled in the Madagascan highlands in the 10th century, having migrated from Indonesia and Malaysia. Later, during the reign of Andrianjaka, Antananarivo became the kingdom’s capital. The term Imerina was coined in the late 16th century by King Ralambo, who named his kingdom “Imerina Ambaniandro”, meaning “under the sun”.
